1. Who We Are

findmeIRL ("we", "our", "us") is a social discovery mobile application that helps users find nearby people with shared interests. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with care.

2. Information We Collect

Account data: email address, nickname, gender, birthdate, nationality, languages, interests, profession, faith, bio, and profile photo.
Location data: GPS coordinates collected when you grant location permission. Your exact coordinates are stored on our servers but are never shared with other users.
Messages: text messages sent between connected users, stored in our database.
Usage data: interaction logs collected by Supabase infrastructure to ensure service stability.

3. How We Use Your Data

To show other users a privacy-obfuscated position (randomised ±500–800 m from your real location) — never your exact GPS.
To match you with nearby users based on shared interests and filters you choose.
To deliver real-time messages and connection notifications within the app.
To improve app performance and resolve bugs.

4. Location Privacy Model

findmeIRL uses a grid-based obfuscation model. Your real GPS coordinates are stored securely on our servers (Supabase, EU region). Other users only ever see a randomised point within approximately 500–800 metres of your true position. You are the only person who sees your exact location.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Supabase: our database and authentication provider.
Firebase / FCM: push notification delivery (optional; device token only).
Legal authorities: if required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab inside the app. Deletion removes your profile, messages, and connections from our database within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@findmeapp.co.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including row-level security policies on our database, encrypted connections (TLS), and scoped API keys. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your device secure.

9. Children

findmeIRL is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
